This is an older image from about four years ago. Lighting was harsh and shadowed but i can never resist critters getting a drink. So any hints on how to improve it are appreciated other than shoot it in better light!

Hi Chris Hi how are you saving the image? PM if you need any help
Would like to see more room at the bottom and not sure about the compensation. Check the histogram there might not be much info in the last box to the right !!! Cute pose and appealing image !!!!
Chris,
I like the pose and also the fact that you love shooting critters. Most of the photographers focus on shooting Mega fauna like Tiger, Lion, Elephant etc. It becomes difficult for good photographers to make a mark in this area. It is relatively easier for photographers shooting other animals to create good work, capture little known behaviour and get noticed.
Would you mind telling us why you did a minus 0.5 EV. You would get more noise in the underexposed areas if your exposure is not right. Also, as suggested by Alfred, you may examine your image saving procedure.
Did you explore a vertical option and other focal lengths? 10D was my first digital SLR. ISO 100 used to give me good results. Even ISO 200 was ok in good light. Look forward to more postings.
Cheers,

Sabyasachi,
I was shooting at -.5 due to the rocks i had as a background. They tend to get burned out otherwise. I didn't explore the vertical option as I was photographing Bandtail Pigeons at the time and I was just lucky enough to capture this chipmunk when he came to drink. Sadly since this picture was taken there has been a severe population drop of the chipmunks in my area. I have only seen two chipmunks in the last year. I used to see three or four at a time most any time I used the photo blind in my backyard.
