Same individual as last post. I liked the back view here as it shows the last remnants of its' juvenal plumage. What a joy this bird was to photograph - just lie in the frozen muck and wait!

Canon 40D + 100-400L @320mm, aperture priority, 1/1000s., f/7.1, ISO 400. Evaluative metering, no EC, natural light, handheld, just about full frame.

The muted tones in the BG and water combined with the bird's still pose give this image a decidedly peacful look. The rock in the foreground balances the bird and the droplet is a nice plus.

Great angle, details, setting and the little droplet adds to it.

Superb light, details and colors Daniel. Love the head turn and the fantastic eye contact. The water drop in the beak´s tip is the ice on th ecake. Very well done!

This is a nice one. I love the colours, the water droplet on its beak and the rock in the image. Waiting on the frozen muck is worth it.

Love the pose and the sense of habitat captured. The water droplet is an added bonus. Nicely done Daniel!
