    I was shooting some pelicans in flight and saw this. I then changed the focal length for this composition. Would love your comments.

    ISO 400, 400mm f2.8 L IS USM, f8, 1/250sec, EOS 40D, full frame.

    Sabyasachi,
    I love patterns like this. Glad you saw it and photographed it. I think a crop from the top, to eliminate the frond tips at upper left, would make it a stronger abstract, if that's your intent.

    I like the concept and would like to see it with a softer BG. I see you shot at f/8, opening up more would have helped soften the BG

    Agree that a softer BG would have been an improvement but this really isn't badly distracting as is. You did a great job on the composition and "seeing" the image in the first place.

    Sabyasachi, I agree w/ Chris on a slight crop. the BG doesn't bother me. I like this alot. And Gus is right it looks like nature's fan

    This is a fabulous shot. I would have probably cloned some of the blemishes out of a couple of the leaves to make it even cleaner.
