I'd darken the sky tone ...and selectively brighten the sea foam. I like the composition, but the tones are all bunched up in the middle. Maybe boost contrast.

I love B&W too. You really have to play around with it in digital to get the true B&W feel of film. I recently bought silver efx pro and it's really good. All the tonal qualities are assigned a zone by the software. You pick that zone and adjust. Pretty cool.

Impressive image Peter Love the wave action Would try going digital for the B&W Conversion wise its very simple particularly if you use LightRoom. Seems to do the best and lots of control. Don't get intimidated and btw there are plug ins to mimic different B&W films, they sort of reproduce the film grain !!!

Would try tweaking the contrast since it feels a little flat. Also wish the birds were more prominent but like it as is !!

Impressive sea composition Peter. It does look a tad bit flat...very good advise given by Michael and Mr. Forns...

Agree with the others. One of the best things about the digital forum is how easy it is to separate out the different tones with levels, curves, dodging, burning, etc. You've got a great composition here...just need to play with the tones a bit more and you'll have a great b&w!
