This is a Female Dotterel in breeding plumage and is the partner of the male i posted a few days ago.

These are classed as an endangered species.

Lovely soft light, Jason. Colours and BG are good. I would patch out the light and dark spots in the BG and maybe crop a little off the top or lighten that dark band. Cool to see some NZ birds on the forum:)
