    That is one spectacular image.

    For the benefit of the members, did you use flash and if not, how much light did you add to the exposure?

    Very nice. My only nit, and it is minor, is the other bird visible at the feet of the star attraction. Thanks for sharing.

    John spectacular image !!!!! The only distraction is the oof bird in the bg !!!! If you have it give a bit more room at bottom for the feel !!!

    This image is available at Venice most years (not this one) but is so difficult to nail as you did !!!! Big Congrats !!!

    John, this is stunning. I really would love to see it here where I live. Normally they breed in dense reedbeds.

    Had to go back and look. Yes, apparently I did use a flash, but the compensation is not recorded.

    That's beautiful John, the bird's display is superb and the backlight really adds to the picture. The pose is amazing and the composition top notch. Very well done.

    Nice to have the attention drawn away from the head for once: those plumes are hypnotic.
