    Default Double-Crested Cormorant

Cormorants are tough to capture in flight, mostly because they are so dark that it's tough to get the feather detail you want without totally blowing out the sky. This is about as good a cormorant flight shot as I've gotten.

I agree, they are challenging, especially if they have black and white plumage. You've done well on this one with good wing position, feather detail and that lovely green eye

Exposure control, details and eye contact make this a great image. Maybe I should get a 50D as backup camera.

Very nice flight shot of the cormorant. The exposure looks spot on to me, and the nice eye adds... Bosque Del Apache??

    Beautiful exposure and shot.
I may try to crop from top and a bit from the bottom to give it more of a panaromic look.
