    2 red fox kits from a den this spring. Canon 40D 500 f/4 IS w/1.4x 1/1000s at f/9 ISO 640 RAW. Bean bag from my truck.

    Welcome to BPN!

    I would say that you caught a great moment of interaction. I wish that the quality of light was different--either earlier or later in the day. That, or perhaps this presentation of the image is simply too hot?

    David - it was pretty early in the day so maybe just a levels adjustment to improve it?

    My thoughts exactly--possibly bringing down the midtones is all you need. Give it a try and let us know how it turns out.

    I, for one, feel like that's a marked improvement. The image doesn't feel "too light" any more.

    I agree - thanks for your help. It's so easy to get tunnel vision when you look at your own stuff.

    I'm gonna have to go against David and Robert and say I much prefer the original Steve. The second image looks much to dark and the detail in the paws and other dark areas have started to block up. But I love the original shot!
