Default the presence of a hovering osprey

The photo was taken in mid-June 2008 at Damariscotta Mills, Maine. The osprey was hovering and hunting for alewives, anadromous herrings that migrate from the salt water of Damariscotta River to the fresh water of Damariscotta Lake. In this image I wanted to use color to project the tremendous energy of this osprey while it hovered. In PS post-processing, I used several Color Efex filters to get a black background and a colorful energetic bird.

    C & C appreciated.

It looks almost like native American art, very clever!

I just want to know what pills you took before you made this. :D;):D

This has incredible insight and energy. I agree with Fabs that it has a very native american feel to it but it does remind me a bit of the "70's". :D

This is a wonderful effect- as others have noted- very "Native American"- totem-like. Would like to see more of a head and eye in an ideal world. Don't know how hard that would be to accomplish with the applications you are using.....
Anyway, it is a striking composition-very well done!
