    Not bad for the high ISO Pat !! Tough to make this work with the limited dof I like what you were trying to do but there is too much clutter in the bg and the birds seem to get lost.

    As presented would try to keep the head of the bluejay form intersecting the side of the tree. If possible I would try to isolate on bird !!!

    I, too like the idea of what you're trying to do. Alfred's given a great critique. I think it would definitely be a worthwhile project to get such an image. Was this much of a crop....there seems to be some artifacts/noise in the BG?

    I cropped it vertical to get rid of the sides...other distractions... this was only for a couple of seconds in the edge of woods as other people stopped to see what I was shooting and scared the birds away for a bit..Thanks for the feedback Lana and Alfred it is most helpful
