I was walking the nature trail at Colusa NWR when I spotted this Ruby Crowned Kinglet. Several times it flashed its ruby crown at me as if daring me to take its picture. Each time I tried it nimbly popped back into the brush. This happened over and over. Finally it dove into a patch of bamboo like cover beside the stream. As I tried to focus on it I saw a sparrow silhouetted on a branch. So I took its image instead. In post processing I increased the tint and upped the contrast. I like how the resulting image came out.
    God bless all,

    Chris

Very nice Chris I like this alot. I have a silhouette of a bluejay against a dk blue sky- this has inspired me to work on mine, thanks! If this were mine I would take just a sliver off top to exclude the OOF blotch in L center frame. Great job on this, I really do like it.

Chris, I think you did, indeed, make some lemonade here but I think the bird gets lost in all that heavy brush. I did a recrop as a suggestion on how you might bring that bird into its rightful place as center of attention. Just another way to go...

    Julie,
Your crop does bring the focus of attention to where it is needed.

    Great job,

    Chris

I like the oriental mood. Would crop to a vertical pano, as a bookmark.

This is very rich and effective- I really like the effect. Agree, some sort of crop might help, but the imagery is so nice...:)
