Shot this hiking in Grand Teton. Does anyone know what kind of marmot this is?

    Great shot Denise,
Love the colours, placement in the frame, and the sharpness of the marmot. I was wondering if a BG blur would make him stand out even more?

    Hi Denise,
I like your composition, image and capture. You have good head angle and good color rendition. A did a few changes to enhance your image...I cropped 1/4 from the bottom, ran noise reduction in the background, blurred it just a tad to blend in the different tones and hues. I opened up the shadows on the little fellow, selective sharpened the eye, increased saturation and contrast...see if this present better to you...

I like your cropping and adjusting on your repost, Gus. I think there may be just a tad too much lightening on the chest and ear.

Great image, full of energy. Thanks for posting it, Denise.

I like it very much. My monitor shows a bit of noise in the background. The blur and noise reduction helped very much. I agree with the bottom crop. More balanced image. Good shot.

    Denise,
I love Marmots. When i lived in colorado they were my favorite creature to see.So naturally i love your picture. What you have photographed is a Yellow Bellied Marmot.
    Keep at 'em

    Correction,
After rechecking my field guide it appears to look more like a Hoary Marmot. Let's see what others say.

    Hi denise:

I like your photo as it is. I think the higher rock give him a searching inquisitive look from his lofty advantage point. IMHO.

    .Best regards

Between Denise's or Jackie's, I'd pick Jackie's because of its background. I'd crop off a bit of the bottom, too,

    Hi Folks:

Sometimes I get carried away with PS and should leave well alone. I wonder what you would think about removing part of the rock with the clone marks

I have to go with the original with minor variations The version blurring the bg seem a bit extreme. I like ending up with something that could have been done by the camera lens combo. Not sure anything could give the little guy so much dof but totally obliterate the bg !!!

Love the placement and stare Great feel to this image !!!
