    Default Anyone know this guy?

    One (several) incredible photo(s).

Before folks start deciding on how natural this is, or whether the photographer is being honest (this happened on another forum) be sure to check out a few of his shots.

I'll provide a quote where I (I don't know why, but I was offended) came to his defense too.

OK, I did some more looking around and found this from the photographer:

    [quote.]

Common Kingfisher. Alcedo atthis.

    [/quote]

I'm rusty, but I'll give it my best shot.
"The photo was taken in a small aquarium installed [placed] in the natural environment were the Kingfisher lives in complete freedom. Thank you for your interest and your time"

"You can see an example of a similar set up in the comments on my photo titled Kinfisher High Velosity VII."

A quick look at the image he referenced http://photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=7826344 shows the set up.

While some may choose to agree or disagree about how "natural" this is I think calling him a liar is a bit over the top as he seems to have given total disclosure.

A great deal of images are set up in some way, some could be as simple as tossing food. If yo go for something unusual as this one it should be disclosed and there is nothing wrong with it.

I hope no one has thought the photographer just happened to be lurking there with a camera :)

I like it, after all they do stuff like that in nature films all the time, so i have no problem with his set up.

Awesome shot. I wish I was that imaginative. A lot of work went into getting this shot. I'm jealous. Another shot in his portfolio that impressed me was the remote shot he took. He captures a bird flying to the camera and he is in the shot behind the bird with the remote! Amazing.

Wow, Jim, That really is amazing.

How else to get such a good under-water shot of a strike? What a great idea. Thanks for sharing this guy's stuff with us.

I've seen his work on a Forum from Spain. Given that the BBC total winner is a remote triggered image, I see nothing wrong with his set-up, specially that he discloses the method used.
