    While photographing red knots this past weekend, this little jewel flew in an tucked it's head before I could get a focus lock on it...while I waited 10 minutes hoping that it would show the full body, a peregrine hovering way overhead put an end to any chance of that occurring P:)

    Nikon D300, 500 AFS-VR TC14EII, ISO 640, F 6.3

    I like the apparent sharpness produced by the side light and you did well processing the image !!! Good looking bird JIm !!!

    A very intimate shot, I love the feel on this one. The light is very nice and the exposure is just stunning! Great comp and ambient! Congratulations!

    Sharp with a perfect EXP but... I would have preferred either the entire shadow or your having moved to your right to better parallel the subject. Making a soft somewhat sharp noise when they are resting can usually get them to at least open an eye...
