    It's always a good day when you get home with a card full of images and every one of the photographs you made of a white duck in bright sun were actually exposed correctly. Sometimes I scare myself!

    I did get a few other images with a bit more "eye contact" but I liked the preening aspect of this one. I thought it was a little bit more interesting.

    Canon 40D, 70-200mm f/4L USM
    f5 @ 1/600th, ISO 200
    Manual Mode, Pattern metering
    Handheld, natural light
    Processed in ACR & CS4. Small crop & levels adjustment.

    Exposure control and details look good, the rocks are a bit distracting, though. Is this an escapee? It looks like a domestic duck.

    Axel, I'm sure he probably was at one point but he and his mate have been living with the flock of Canada Geese on this small lake for a good two years now.
