This image taken this morning is cropped over 50% and sharpened quite a bit. Otherwise not "corrected" very much. (I don't think the bird stands out from its background very well?) C&C, please . . .

    Hi Wendell,
I really like this picture. The exposure looks good and your subject is sharp. The HA police are not after you either. Just a little busy in the BG, good job!

Yep, my only minor issue is with the clump of reeds in the background. Otherwise a fine mage.

    Cheers.

Hi Wendell If you could have taken a couple of steps left the bg would have changed !!! It is a pleasing image as presented and I like it !! Do look into a converter for higher magnification !!!

Jackie, Sean, Alfred: Thanks to all for your helpful comments. And Alfred I do have a 2X Tamron, but find it to be a bit soft (less than satisfactory). Would you recommend a 1.7X and something other than a Tamron??

I think a lot of Nikon users are using the 1.7 Wendell ( I am using Canon so it's different) Also if you receive the BAA Bulletin you may want to check out Hunt's or B & H photo in New York.

Thanks, Jackie, I'll consider that . . . believe i should have gone that route instead of purchasing my 2X . . .
