I hesitate to post here, (first time) as the quality of the images posted here is so impressive! But here goes anyway.

    Shot yesterday, through glass window:
    Canon EOS 30D
    400mm, f/5.6, 1/250sec
    Lightroom, Paint Shop Pro

This is what the image looked like RAW. I wanted to try to save it, as I had never seen a goldfinch in my yard before.

Hi Maria I like what you did a lot Would just make a couple of changes Would like more room in front and lighten the bird just a tad With the original do check the histogram and push data into the fifth box

I like the image a lot Lots of pleasing colors and a beautiful bird Big Congrats !!!

Thank you very kindly, Al and Fabs. I understand that you are saying that I needed to pay closer attention to the placement of the composition. I will pay closer attention to that next time. Thanks for taking the time to have a look, I appreciate it!

    Hi
Well considering that you were shooting through a window I think this has come out rather nicely
And great to see the differences from the goldfinches I know here in the UK - completely different colourations / markings
    All the best
    Matthew
