Default the shock wave of snow geese

These snow geese were flying overhead at the Bosque last November, in a Vee formation that was distinct from the disorganized flight patterns they sometimes have. These seventeen geese flew almost as a single organism, forming an unseen but discernable moving bubble of energy in the air, like a shock wave. I used Photoshop and several Nik Color Efex filters to finally get an image that represented both the shock wave and enough of the details of snow geese forms to be recognizable as such. Original photo was taken with Canon 5D, 500 mm IS lens, handheld.

    C & C appreciated.

Keith. Very creative! I like how all the wings are in different positions. The colors really work, too.

Really nice composition and this is certainly thinking OOTB! Love the creativity and vision that you had and how you executed it. Nicely done!

Wow- that's dramatic! Nice job! My only (small) concern is that the brightest yellow is a bit overwhelming, on my monitor-but maybe that's the shock you are looking for.. ;-)
