    The pond on this ranch is without a doubt the most reliable place to photograph this tough and elusive species.
    I was happy to finally get the colorful Male.

    Placement of the perch is key to getting Kingfishers to land.

    One to be proud of Alan! Love the pose. Exposure and sharpness are excellent. If I could ask for anything, it would be a slight head turn towards you, but I'd take this one any day!

    Excellent image. Love the lichen on the perch; bird is obviously relaxed; clarity and resolution excellent. :-)
