    Winter, and the grebes are not in breeding plumage.
    The water in this pond was over-grown with algae and produced this greenish cast. The green foam about the bird and on the surface of the water is from decomposition gases released from the bottom of the pond.

    Mark I like the Grebe very much, the over the shoulder look and eye contact are both great. Would try darkening the water, the lither patches are eye catching, could also take a little of the top !!! I like it a lot !!!
