Hi Stephen, Could you repost your image a little larger - it is displaying at 100x72 pixels which just isn't doing it justice. Resize the original to a maximum dimension of 800 pixels and repost. The thumbnail looks good.
After Ian's post I managed to see you image better - not sure what the glitch is with loading it. I like the colours and background. A bit of fill flash may have put a bit more light into the dark area around the eye - a gentle shadow/hightlight adjustment may improve detail here and possible some selective adjustment of the eye. I find the lichen covered part of teh perch at the right margin of the frame a bit distracting - the colour and texture is great but a wonder what it woulfd look like with just the thin portion of the perch at the edge of the frame - it would bring the eye to a junction of thirds. All in all - minor comments - a good image of a lovely bird.

Hi Stephen
I clicked on thumbnail and image came up fine.
Nice RH placement of kingfisher with plenty of space in front.
Bird is at a good angle to photographer with good detail.
I like it.
