I had headed up to Whitefish Point in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to see the colors along the way, and hopefully photograph these rocks at the beach. Had the usual struggles of wind shaking the tripod, and the tripod moving in the rocks which rarely settled. So it was good effort put into get some images. I worked with the saturation in color versions of the images (may post one soon), and thought I had enough tonal variations to take this to B&W. I hope you enjoy it!

Bruce,
Well composed as usual; excellent placement and orientation of the dominant egg-shaped rock. There's a certain tension between it and the lighter round rock it's pointing at, which I like. Lots of interesting shapes and textures, and good tonal range and contrast. I suggest a couple small tweaks: pull down the highlights on the bright spots two rocks above the egg and at center left edge of frame, and slightly darken the corners and edges. Can't wait to see the color images!
Chris and I had the same first impression...all those rocks and yet those two jump out at you! This is some wonderful composing, Bruce! I'm so big on textures and patterns in images and this one really holds my interest. Beautiful work as usual!
