    Default Heron 2 Step

    Hi There

Shot of 2 Grey Herons having a little bit of a discussion over who should be getting the free food that is put out for them to feed on at the HCT here in the UK.

They are wild birds and upwards of 15 - 20 of them gather each day for a free feed, (but I post the image here due to the large piece of chicken visible in the upper birds beak)

There are often fights and a few ruffled feathers as birds jockey for position to grab the best pickings. Its a real challenge to catch this sort of behaviour as by the time you have heard the noise, its generally all over.

However if you happen to be following a particular bird and it kicks off, you occasionally capture a shot that is pleasing.

    Hi John,

Cool behavior. IMO looks dark and soft. I'm sure you can get more details if you play with shadow and highlight a apply some more sharpening.

    Thank you for sharing.

I like the action but from the angle, I think it's a little hard to figure it out as the head of one isn't visible and the other one is a twisted, front view. Glad to see that you're back photographing and posting again.
