    I managed to get up close (good luck never hurts).;)

    Shot information: 40D, 100-400 @ 190mm, f/9, and 1/1250 second.

    Strong shadows due to the harsh light. You did well with the DOF.

    Welcome Joe! Glad to see you posting some of your avian work here on BPN! The angle of light casts a strong shadow, but the bird looks great IMO. Agree with Maxis about the DOF being just right. Thanks for posting!
