You just don't get many oppt. with this species in flight and I was sure happy when this bird popped
I really like the background colors they compliment this bird quite well.

Incredible capture of a very elusive bird. To capture him in flight is simply awesome James. Big Congratulations and the color , detail and eye contact are superb. Love this one James.

These guys are anything but easy in flight, not only the BG compliments the bird but the pose, the light and comp, the sharpness and detail are simply outstanding James! Some noise reduction would help, but it is, as presented a terrific shot! Congratulations!

Stunning image of an American Bittern in flight. How did you get so fortunate to have it fly in such nice light. Wonderfully sharp and detailed with a complimenting background. Awesome James!

Superb flight James. I have never seen one of this guys (well, the european species, of course) in flight. You did a fantastic job capturing this one under such a nice light and a sweet BG. The eye contact and wing downstroke are great. thanks for sharing this beauty

A beautiful shot and such complimentary colours. The exposure is excellent and you have captured such wonderful detail, congratulations. If this bird is as elusive as the European one then you truly have caught a gem of a shot.:)
