    Default Motif: Red (red is difficult!!!)

    I had to go back a few times because the red just kept getting blown out. Based on the settings in Lightroom, I actually dialed DOWN the Vibrance and Saturation into negative territory.

    I did some noise reduction on the BG in PS, and sharpened the flower.

    I tried to get the green part of the flower and the water drop on the petal in the same DOF plane....

    Nikon D80
    ISO 400
    60mm macro w/ 12mm extension tube
    1/80 sec @ f/8.0
    Handheld
    Manual exposure.

    Red may be difficult, but isn't it fun!?!?!?! lol

    Your image looks so dramatically 3D. very cool.

    I like this one a lot, the change of the tones in the reds from outer petal to inner is super.

    Hi Amy would like to see the green at one of the intersecting thirds Just makes it stronger Move it down and left !! Great feel !!

    Hi Al,

    I had a little room to move the crop a little....to get the green center closer to the intersection....

    Thanks for the suggestion - I knew there was something that was bothering me, and I think the re-post will be stronger:

    Love the colours and how you got the DOf on the middle and the drops. Like the repost crop. Very beautiful Amy.
