During trip to Bosque last summer I saw these 3 different birds all together. Couldn't resist the photograph. I could use help with IDing.

It looks like you have 2 juvenile Black-Crowned Night Herons and a Mallard Duck. It's a rather interesting image getting those 2 species together in one image. The exposure and composition look pretty good. I think the biggest distraction are the blades that cross over the herons.

I think there's a Yellow crowned and a Black crowned. Different shape heads and legs and even the bills are shaped different?
The stocky shorter one is the Black.

    So cool!!!!!!

It's hard to tell with juvie Night Herons, but they both look like juvie black crowns to me. I think the one on the right just has it's neck extended a little and the left one is scrunched up a little.

I think getting these two species together makes an interesting image, but the lighting is less than ideal and I think the bg, fg, and man made elements are all a bit distracting.
