Another shot from South Africa. Glossy Ibis launching against a background of high reeds and blue sky.

Very lovely capture showing off the beautiful color in their feathers. Excellent detail and I like the forward motion of the wings. My only wish would have been to have captured this a tad sooner before it got by you but still a great image and congratulations i capturing this image in such wonderful light. Thanks for sharing Tony.

Great detail in this image Tony, eye contact, wing position, color and BG, love it. And thank you for all you've done and thank you for sharing this wonderful image.

Beautiful! You captured the gloss perfectly. Crystal as well. Only nit and it's inconsequential - an all reed background would have been perfect for me. A super image as is though.

    Best,

Looks a lot like the "White-faced Ibis". Nice shot here. Only nit is, there seems to be a blue banding between reeds and sky tones; maybe some blending? Good image: bird is well done. Nice ;-)

Neat shot Tony. This pose shows the nice glossy wings well. A slight turn towards you rather than away would have made this even better. After reading Mark's comment I also notice the banding he mentions...?

Nice action and pose. I would tone down the legs and the BG. The head turn is not ideal, but it is still a fine image.

I think this is due to the seed heads/plumes of the reeds being a different colour and density to the leaves.
