This was taken when the sun was setting over Wakodahatchee last spring. The golden light was so beautiful that it was a little bit of paradise for the photographers that were photographing that night.

Gorgeous light and a very nice comp, Judy. I believe your bird is a female red-winged blackbird.

Talk about taking advantage of the waning light!! Neil is correct ID-wise. Too bad about the bright leaf under the tail. Did you clone out some elements? I ask because the edge of the perch below the lowest foot has what looks like some smudging and is not as crisp as the rest.

Everything is gorgeous Judy especially the light, the leaf over the back of the bird is a little distracting to me but still very beautiful. I have to agree with Neil on the species, Female Red Wing for sure. Congrats on a beautiful image, but still not as beautiful as you are, especially in your heart.

Beautiful light, and yes, it is a female RWBB, getting ready for the mating season to arrive soon!

Light is exquisit, almost too gold!! ;) Very nice pose and BG, more eye contact would've been great! But as presented it looks great to me! Congratulaitons!

Thanks for the correction on I.D. I must have been half a sleep to have made this mistake < smile > We have so many female RWB around here . Again many thanks Judylynn.

Stunning light Judy, and like the diagonal perch across the image. Well captured.

This is a very cool picture with very soft sunlight.
My only nit is to clone out the leaf around the tail as pointed out by Daniel.
