This Marbled Godwit, resident at the Seattle Aquarium, seemed to be taking a bow for me as I snapped his image.
Nikon D40x, ISO 400, 1/400, F5.6, focal length 112mm. Cropped, some work in Elements especially with darkening the background.
I am wondering if blurring and darkening the background seems too much. The original has more leaves, etc around it which are lighter and much sharper.
I like your choice for composition Hazel the shot is well balanced in the frame with your subject I don't mind the work you did with the leaves and the bg
I do see heavy cloning marks around the Godwit that are kinda distracting I do like the pose by the bird but could only wish it was alittle sharper. Thanks for sharing and I look forward to seeing more work in the future.

I'm not sure how much of a crop this was but if there were plenty of pixels to work with I might be tempted to crop some more off the bottom. Depending on what the whole image looked like, you might be able to have the bird small in the frame if the habitat is appealing. With this one you might to start over as the present version has manipulation that is a little too evident. Often times a little PS/Elements work can go a long way. Keep at it.
