I guess I'll add to the ungulate parade. The bucks are just starting to get into rut here. It is really funny to watch them as they can't decide whether to eat acorns or chase does. They will be eagerly trotting after a doe head, down nose out then suddenly stop and look down at the acorns and start chomping away.

The lighting for deer photography has been tough. I keep finding them in the shade under the oaks with usually a lot of hot spots behind.

    Camera Data
    Canon 10D
    Canon 100-400 IS @ 260
    ISO 400
    1/30 sec @ F 5.6
    Manfrotto 055 XPROB
    Bogen 3055 Ballhead
    RS 80 N3 shutter release
Lighting was open shade with some sunspots on the leaves

    Any ideas?

    God bless all,

    Chris

    Hi Chris,
I like the look back pose and the leafy floor. The processing (particularly the BG) looks a little funky to me. Wish I was more knowledgeable about PP to tell you exactly what. The deer looks sharp for that shutter speed. And yes, they are fun to watch this time of year.
