I love birds of prey and I always see these guys around during the summer up here in CT. This one was coming in for a landing at it's nest. I wanted to get the nest too but got in tight instead. Taken at Westbrook, CT with a Canon EOS 1D Mark II N, 100-400mm 4-5.6L @ F5.6 set at 400mm 1/4000 ISO 400 + 2/3 ev. Minor PS adjustments include levels and added more blur to background. Comments and Critiques welcome!

    Hey Ed,
nice shot of a great bird. Love the trees, gives you that sense that he is really close to his nest. The top of his head looks a little hot, maybe you can still tone that down a bit. Great shot overall, with a great composition. Also nice job getting the details from under the wings.

Thanks Cbass! I hadn't noticed the head. I'll have to try to tone the head down some. Thanks for the critique!

Very nice pose and moment! Light was not at it best angle but exposure is not bad at all, I would try a bit more saturation but other than that I liker this one! The trees in the BG are a big plus! Congratulaitons!
