This is very nice Bill. Beautiful, "dreamy" BG and great colours on the bird. Comp is good and there's lots of sharpness. The only downside for me- and it's a small one- is the lack of eye contact. It's very close but the bird is looking down a little. Maybe I'm in a rut on this and need to think more out of the box.

Hope you are enjoying the new body. Should have mine by Monday.

Lovely portrait and the background has a very painterly look. Good color and detail. Glad you are enjooying the new camera.

Great shot, although the light seems harsh and it also looks a it oversaturated to me, and a bit noisy too, still, the BG and the nice comp are great here. Congratulaitons!

Sweet colors and nice composition. Only suggestion I'd make is to tone down the beak/forehead from the strong light.

Well done Bill! Agree with above suggestions. Hopefully the new body will solve your focus issue!

I agree with Ramón about the oversaturation

Hi, here's my version, I just desaturated and darkened only the the heron a bit and reduced the noise in the BG and in the Heron as well, hope you don't mind.

Great shot! Like the contrast in the warm background and the cool tones in the bird. I think Ramon's tweaks make the photo even better.
