Here is a shot from this summer at the Scarborough Marsh (Maine). These birds love skulking around low in the grass but on a lucky morning this guys teed up above his nest. There was ALOT of processing done here but I wanted to keep the background as is to show their habitat, any critique is appreciated (especially about the stick through the head, would it look better without it?) I just wish the other leg was visible.

The stick thought the head doesn't worry me too much. I would probably burn it a little to tone it down. The image looks a bit soft - was this a significant crop or does it just need a bit more sharpening for web display?
I like the subject and the background but I am afraid my comment is the same as previous , i.e. will it sharpen any more or has it been cropped significantly, I would suspect the latter - I have taken many shots like this!
Here is a second try. It doesn't look as sharp as original so I've tried sharpening the converted file. I did a real quick mid-tone levels adjustment on the branch but it doesn't look natural enough to me, I'll keep working on it. It was a pretty big crop, thought it might be salvageable. Thanks for all the critiques
