    I found this guy (and many others) at the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge yesterday (10/20/08). Aransas NWR is known for Whooping Cranes but I've always had good luck finding other kinds of wildlife there. Yesterday was apparently "deer day" at the NWR as they were everywhere.

    Michael,

    When I saw the thumbnail I thought it would be too centered but now see why you cropped it like this with him looking over the shoulder. You could try cropping more from the front (if you have not already tried that) to see how it looks.

    I like the low angle and the BG. I might try cloning some of the yellow highlights in the BG as they grab the eye.

    Here's my take on your suggestions. I think they improved the image quite a bit.

    I like the tighter crop. It really accentuates the deer.
