    Default Miss Jane

    House Finch (female)

    Canon 40D
    Canon 500mm f/4L IS + 1.4x
    Shutter Speed: 1/800
    Aperture: f8
    ISO: 200
    Evaluative metering
    Manual Exposure

Backyard setup, the shadows were creeping in at the top of photo. I really like this effect. I have hundreds of male Finch photos. The females are plain jane's compared to the males, but I liked this one.

A better head turn would have made this perfect! The perch is awesome, and some flash might have helped with the shadows in the crevices.

I do too. I like BG's that have some character and variation in colour. Everything in this image is good. Very well done. :-)
