Monhegan Island, ME is about 1 3/4 miles long by 3/4 mile wide, but there was only one tree with any fall color on the whole island during the first week of October. We did, however, have lots of fun there late on windy afternoons...

Canon 500mm f/4L IS lens with the 1.4X II TC and the EOS-1D MIII. ISO 200. Evaluative metering +2/3 stop: 1 sec. at f/45 in Tv mode.

Don't be shy; all comments welcome.

I really like the colors and I am glad you found the one colorful tree! And, of course, it is well exposed. However, I am not fond of the level of "bluriness" of it. It makes me a little dizzy.

I like it very much I think the colors are bold . I also think you managed to retain the feel of leaves. Good job Artie !

Thanks all for their comments. As this is the side of the tree to our left, it seemed natural to me to leave some space along the left frame edge, and to leave the corners as is, so that is what I did and I like it. If I cropped fromm the left, that would eliminate most of the red leaves there...

    Hi Artie,
i prefer the original over the blurred version. The first one has more impact IMHO.

Artie: If I had to choose, I would choose the original. I am trying to figure out what is bothering me and I think it is the blur is both vertical and horizontal. Obviously others really like it and are not bothered by that.

I tried. I too like the first one.

Of the two, I also like the first one better. I think it shows the wind motion more clearly. But... here's a third option: your blurred repost blended (lighten at 75% opacity) over your original. What do you think?
