    Default Grazing Buffalo

Sabi Sands. A private game reserve adjoining the Kruger National Park. It was quite amazing to purposely drive into the middle of about 300-400 buffalo, and watch them graze around us. Not one was worried about our presence. The golden rule on a game drive - not to stand up in the open land rover, as you break the silhouette that the animals see, as they only see in 2D.

I liked the light in this.

    Stuart,

I really like this image. You got him in some great light with a great expression. The crop is just right to frame the face and horns. Nice work.

He looks mean...is this one that will charge? You were pretty close. Nice light and composition.

    Thanks Robert and Joanna.

Joanna, any wild animal with show aggression if threatened. As we were not a threat, and explained above, not standing up in the vehicle, they were quite calm. Although totally in the wild, they do get used to the vehicles too. Yes, they were very close, and we could have leaned over and touched some as they walked passed the vehicle. Hope that helps.
