Spent a very enjoyable week with Simon Bennett at Hattah Kulkyne National Park in north-west Victoria.
These cuckoos are migratory to southern Australia. I suspect the dirt on the bill is from searching for catipillars on the ground.

What a great species! I love the sheen on its wing and the perch is quite nice too. I'm not 100% crazy about the BG as I find it to be a bit distracting.

Excellent shot of a bird i've never heard of, the colors on the bird look great and the background makes a good compliment. I find the two vertical lines in front on the bird - one on each side of the perch - a little distracting. Having the dirt on the bill really adds some character. Great shot Rob!

Nice capture. Sharp as a tack. I don't mind the BG much, but I wish there was a tad more room to to the left.

A fabulous photo of this cuckoo - the bird has outstanding pose and clarity.
