    Yves,

I like the alertness and expression of the fox. I would suggest that more room is needed on the bottom so the feet are not so cramped. I am sure we both would have preferred the grass and branch not to be there, but if you are OK with cloning, the few grass stalks could be removed.

I looks like you forgot to sharpen the image. I downloaded it and sharpened it and it looked great. I also tried warming up the colors some and that made the image pop.

    Robert,

Thank you for taking the time to express your opinion. As i am no good with photoshop i could`nt improve the picture as you suggest so precisely. Would you be kind enough to send your improvements so that i could appreciate.

    Sure Yves. Here goes.

To warm the colors I added +5% saturation to the Master Channel of a Hue/Saturation adjustment (Menu: Image > Adjustments > Hue/Saturation also CTRL+U)

I used a combination of the Cloning Tool or a QuickMask and the Eraser Brush to remove some of the taller grass. If you are interested in a good tutorial on this method, I recommend Robert O'Tooles APTATS CD No. 1 at http://www.birdsasart.com/aptats.htm. I was quick and dirty on this and would normally be more diligent so it would not be noticable.

For the sharpening I did the following on a Background Copy using unsharp mask (USM) (Menu: Filter > Sharpen > Unsharp Mask)

    First round at Amount = 175, Radius = 0.3 and Threshold = 0
    Second round at Amount = 125, Radius = 0.2 and Threshold = 0
    Third round at Amount = 125, Radius = 0.2 and Threshold = 0

Artie's sharpening method can be seen in the following thread about 1/2 way down in the first post. Go to http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...ead.php?t=5598.

I hope this helps you out. THe revised version of the image is posted here.

Yves..Nice photo and I think Robert improved the image with sharpening. Now, the question I have is,,,,,can the BG be blurred in Photoshop? I don't know if you could have used less than f9 to blur the BG while shooting Very cute little guy!,
