We tracked down old-timer Tom Martin on Monhegan and set up a log perch by his seed feders. This adult White-crowned Sparrow image was created with the Canon 500mmm f/4 L IS lens with the 1.4X II TC and the EOS-1D MIII. ISO 800. Evaluative metering +1/3 stop: 1/320 sec. at f/8.

Don't be shy; all comments welcome.

I love the perky pose on this one. Nice colors in the BG.

I like the alertness in his eye. Nice job controlling the whites next to the blacks on his crown. I wish his hind foot was in focus and find the orange section of the background distracting.

Wonderful alert pose with excellent eye contact and sharp detail in the head. The eye in particular is beautiful and so sharp. Did you do anything to enhance the eye in your editing Artie ??

Love the pose, IMO the added canvas on the right side looks a little to obvious here. Maybe a little cloning of some of the unique spots in the LRC that show up twice. Superb otherwise.

Sharp eyes Doug. Careless on my part. Thanks for keeping me on my toes. I think that I eliminated most or all of the problematic spots in the repost.
