    This shot was taken in July 2007 on Lake Damariscotta in Maine at approx 6pm.
    Canon 10D with 100-400mm Canon lens
    f4.5, ISO 400, 250mm, 1/250

    Hi Bee and welcome. Where are you from? First off, please post your images at 800 pixels wide so that we can better appreciate and comment. I think that if this were larger and the bird were selectively sharpened a bit that it could be a decent image. The background grasses look sort of funky and the bird is flying ever-so-slightly away from you. This is less than ideal. The EXP is good and I like the yellow flower.

    I like the base composition, would like to see it in a higher resolution. You have been given excellent advise. Remember; now its practice, patience, practice, patience and PRACTICE, it will make you better...:)

    Big Welcome Bee !!!

    Can also add its not the ideal angle to photograph a bird in flight !! You would want to have the wings fully up or down but not straight out !! Looking forward to more !!!
