    Quite the golden light you got here! A tighter crop to eliminate the URC would be good, and some more USM on the bird too.Was a lower angle possible without introducing distractions in the BG?

    Lovely light and interesting pose with open beak - unfortunately conceals the feathers at the back of the head that create the hamerkop (hammerhead). Agree re tighter cop to remove BG distraction on right and decentre bird

    Heck, this is a pretty picture of a species that usually comes off as being ugly... Wish only (as I have been doing here a lot tonight) that the bird or its head were angled just a bit more towards you.

    Beautiful light and I would agree with the cropping suggestions above. The open beak pose is different and interesting. Wish for a smidge of head turn toward you.

    Wonderful pose. The image looks a little too saturated for my tastes. I agree with the comments above, especially about the cropping suggestions
