    Default Green-winged Teal

    Taken last week. This guy is not quite complete in his molt...but almost there. Hopefully they will stick around until they are completely freshly plumaged. On the downside there were none to be found today...perhaps because of the frozen shallows this morning...winter is creeping closer:eek:. Hope you like the hint of habitat here as much as I do...

    Canon 40D + 100-400L @400mm, manual exposure, 1/125, f6.3, ISO 500, +0.3 EC (histogram checked from previous images), handheld, natural light, about 80% full-frame.

    You did well but that is one ugly bird... Sharp with perfect COMP and interesting habitat.

    Daniel I love the setting its very nice even though this GWT isn't looking its best quite yet it does show this guy in transition plumage... And should be looking its best in a few weeks..... Man I love the winter especially Ducks......

    I laughed when I read this because when I first showed this image to my wife the first thing out of her mouth was "That's a damned ugly duck.":)
