My first attempt at home lighting. Used a polarizing filter to tone down the highlights. Adjusted the colours and did a gaussian blur.

Hey Jackie, I don't know anything about still life photography so I can't critique- but just wanted to say it looks good to me!!

    Well presented Lady Jackie,
I like the soft glow and shine all along the glass. The cluster of apples have a cotton candy feel to them...the soft hunter green background with the sundry shades of light, puts this over the top...a big congrats...proud of you...

Jackie, this is just too cool. I'm certainly not skilled enough tho comment on the technical side but i really like the feel of the shot. I particularly like the choice of background

    Thanks Dave,
I had so many lights, diffusers, reflectors, and things all over the place that I was tripping over everything. The tablecloth is actually held up by a yardstick on a chair. The things you do for a shot eh! Thanks for your comments.

It almost looks like a Orton effect, very well done, nice lighting!

Well done Jackie. I really like the dreamy quality of it. I have never done a still life before, but this looks good to me. How about trying this with a little caviar next time?

It does look like an Orton effect. It sure did a number on the glass! It's gorgeous!
