Wigeon's as common as Pigeons are still fun to watch as they fly in noisy groups across the water. This male struck out alone and gave me an easy target.

    Hi Bill,

This one looks soft in my monitor. The sky is wonderful!

Great wing position and eye contact. I agree on the softness, is this a heavy crop?

Thanks guys, I actually soften the brown neck area to clean up some messy feathers and applied the clone brush too soft I think. The head, eye and bill look sharp I think and I thought the wing definition was pretty good. I will rework and re-sharpen my Jpeg. It is definetly not as sharp as my un-compessed TIFF file. The sky even suprised me. It is, as is. The crop was about 50% and I don't think is the problem

The comparison looks better. Maybe for this one I needed everything I had on the Tiff and just can't get it here on the Jpeg. I appreciate your help with it.

Very nice flight pose. It loks a bit soft and the repost shows some halos from sharpening.

Great flight pose. Agree that it looks a bit soft, and that the repost seems oversharpened and somewhat noisy. Widgeons as common as pidgeons made me smile!

Thanks everyone. I'm gonna start from scratch on this one again. If I can get it right I'll repost. Close but no cigar doesn't get it. Thanks for the smile Linda, all was not lost.
