    I shot this Hermit Thrush expelling a pellet this fall. I realize the shot has no photographic merit other than the action, but wanted to share it. The pellet fell into a jungle of weeds and I was unable to find it, so don't know if it contained seeds, beetle shells or whatever.

    Great behavior captured, it would be even better if the bird would have faced you.

    Thanks for showing the behavior. I haven't ever observed this in land birds. I have a whole bunch of images of Long Billed Curlew's and other shorebirds expelling a bolus. Only other bird photographers seem to appreciate my bolus images....my non-photography friends don't seem to care for them!

    Interesting. I too have never seen a songbird puking in more than 32 years of observation...
