Amazing how the bird blends with the terrain. Good low angle. Light coming from the back is not ideal but somewhat it works. I would apply some sharpening to get more details in the feathers.

Great eye contact and I don't think I've seen this species before. I agree on more sharpening and maybe a tad CW rotation.

Beautiful pose. The light angle is not ideal. I think I would brighten the eye a bit, and I agree that the bird should be sharpened and with the CW rotation suggestion. Nice capture.

Not sure if the JPEG will hold up to my crop. Also did a bit of work on the BKGR. Also lightened the face, neck, and breast...

Hi Ken, You and the rest of the gang should subscribe to thread notificiation. Yeah, you get lots of e-mails but you are sure not to miss any relevant posts. And the bet thing about BON post notifications is that you can read the new post right in your inbox. And, it is not too difficult to hit the delete key. We lost some image quality working from the JPEG but if you try a similar crop with the original converted TIFF you should no much better. You might even want to try cropping and then up-rezzig using Bicubic Smoother.
