While in Sausalito over a weekend I was attracted to all of the colorful bike riders coming and going. I decided to practice panning them. It's good practice for shooting flying birds! Not quite as sharp as I wanted it in the bikers face.
God's gift of good light to all of you,
Chris

Lighting bright and sunny at mid morning
Motion blur filter applied to further accentuate speed.
I think its just perfect Chris !!!! Would crop a little top and bottom to accentuate forward motion
The selected shutter speed for these has to do with distance to subject, speed and direction of movement. All done by feel and I like the selected for this one. For most I would vary the shutter speed then judge at the computer.
Also while setting up do look for a colorful bg, can make the image !!! A few weeks ago I was doing the exact same thing while teaching a workshop. Not many bikes during the week and seemed to have missed most of them. Will try again !!! :) btw the pan blurs work well for runner and many sporting events !!!
Excellent composition and capture Chris...agree with Mr. Forns, need to make tis a tighter pano crop to show speed and concentrate on the subject. Love the blurr...
