    This Sanderling was tired after a long flight, flying to Cape May from the Delaware coast and couldn't go any further..I happened to be standing there at the tip, it landed and didn't even seem to mind sharing the spot with me for a few moments, snapped a few photos then let him rest.

    HI Paul,

    This image could use some noise reduction in the BG. I would also increase the contrast and push the colors a bit. Looks dull IMO!!

    Keep them coming!

    I don't know, the bird itself looks fine to me...non-breeding plumaged Sanderlings are rather dullish by nature (but still attractive in their own right!!). The surroundings and overcast lighting don't help liven the image though. A little tight in the frame, but a good close-up of this little guy.

    I agree a little more canvas would strengthen this image but well captured with excellent exposure and detail and I like the low angle.

    Thanks for comments to all...sanderling is almost full frame..cropped a bit, as to not have bird in centre of frame.
